An attempt by the watchdog group Judicial Watch to secure records from the Department of Justice regarding the infamous meeting last year between then-Attorney General Loretta Lynch and former President Bill Clinton has hit a troubling snafu.

In a statement published Wednesday, the watchdog group announced that the DOJ “refuses to disclose the talking points developed by the Obama Justice Department to help it respond to press inquiries about the controversial” meeting that took place on June 27, 2016.

That meeting occurred only a few days before then-FBI Director James Comey recommended that no charges be filed against Bill Clinton’s wife, then-Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton, who had been under investigation for purportedly using a private email address on a personal server to transmit classified intelligence during her tenure as secretary of state.
