On July 9,2009 United States Air force Senior Airman Colton Read went into the hospital for a routine gallbladder removal operation. The botched operation resulted
in the amputation of both of his legs. As of today, the V.A. is denying
him, disability benefits because the amputation was not combat related.I am asking everybody to contact their congressional representatives to put pressure on the V.A. to give this man the benefits that he deserves.

38 USC section 1151 says in part, ” ….any surgery perform by V.A. automatically becomes service connected “. Therefore, does anybody know if his claim was filed under this section, and what did the VARO say regarding that claim for that section of law ??

Mr. Crosby III Thank you for your comment. I will pass your information on to some of the other blogs about Airman Read. Hopefully he will be paid all of the benefits that he earned.
