As the President, Harry Reid, and the liberal conservative phobic media demonize the republican house, the message that We The People shouted on November 2, 2010 is becoming a faded memory. Maybe it is time that We The People remind our representatives in both houses of congress that they work for us. After the historical whooping that we gave the democrats a short 8 months ago, the debate over raising the debt ceiling ought to be a no brainer. We the People told you to cut the budget, repeal Obamacare, and stop the insane spending spree. I think we should give the republican controlled house credit for passing a bill to repeal Obamacare, even if the democrat-controlled senate voted against it. However, if the republicans in the house cave on their promise to the American people to cut spending and vote to raise the debt ceiling there will be hell to pay when they face their constituents back home. The time is now for the republicans in the house to cut up the Presidents’ credit card and say no. The people said no more and that is what they meant. It is also time for the democrats in both houses to put a debt reduction plan of their own on the table for debate and stop the scare mongering. The country is broke and we cannot afford to spend 146 million dollars for federal employees to fly business class. We fly coach and they can too. Maybe Alaska Airlines should spend their own money to paint a Chinook salmon on their Boeing 737 instead of the taxpayers shelling out $ 500,000 dollars for them to do that. Did Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosi, and President Obama really believe that the American taxpayers needed to spend $2,600,000 dollars to teach Chinese prostitutes to drink more responsibly while on the job? I understand that when compared to the 14trillion dollars that we are in debt, these examples of waist are small
amounts of money. However, the wasteful spending throughout the budget has to stop immediately. Entitlement programs such as Social Security,
Medicare , and Medicaid have to be reformed whether Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, President Obama, and the big union thugs like it or not. They are broke. Alas, the democrats would rather demonize the republican plans to reform these programs than to put out a plan of their own for us to debate. In my opinion,
privatization of all three programs would not only save hundreds of billions of dollars but they would become more efficiently run. Maybe showing proof of U.S. citizenship as a prequalification for these programs can save a few billion dollars as well. Most employers require that their employees pass a random drug screen as a condition of continued employment. The same rule should apply to people that are receiving taxpayer funded social welfare benefits. The savings might be minimal, but considering the debt crises that our country is in, every penny counts. Regardless of where congress cuts the budget,
we are broke and the spending spree has to stop and stop now.
We The People Will Rise Again!
