10341878_10205415314645918_1704449421481529274_n The first question many people will ask is why would The Philippines want to give up their sovereignty and independence? Secondly, why do they want to be part of the United States?

On Facebook’s Philippine Statehood Movement Page, group member G.L. Smith summed it up this way …” Today’s world is not about holding on to the past. Today’s world is about the future…..  The people are no longer represented. The people who occupy the the positions of government see their positions as an opportunity for self interest….. . The results is the failure for the government to function for the people and the country. Philippines has no choice as it “can not” be self governed. It must join a country that can establish Law & Justice again and represent the people and the country. If you must hold onto the “Filipino Pride” and are content with your government then do nothing. There is only “one Solution”…………”

During the four years that I’ve lived in the Philippines, I’ve heard many people express opinions similar to Mr. Smith’s. They are not just fed up with the corruption of the Philippine government, but with communist China close by,the military security that only The United States can offer, appeals to them .The following are excerpts of a post on the Philippines For U.S. Territory Movement Facebook page written by  Doc Arturo Pacheco Reyes

ETERNAL VIGILANCE IS THE PRICE OF LIBERTY!

The Philippines (Spratly)had been invaded by Communist China without a fight, and The Philippines, unable to defend her territory had sought help from the United States. The Philippines is in turmoil with no resources to defend her country from foreign invaders and the incursions made by Communist China is felt around the globe. The Philippines was ceded to the United States back in 1898 during the Treaty of Paris of December 20, 1898, and Spratly was part of the ceded territory,

This type of territorial invasions and incursions were typified by Hitler and Japan during World War II. If and when Communist China continues to do territorial invasions like she did in the Philippines and Japan- Events that is happening now as we speak- a world of colonial chaos and absurdity leading to World Disorder and Anarchy will ensue if unabated.

Respect for territorial integrity and world maritime respect for Navigation must be maintained or a collapse in order and discipline will ensue.

China as it appears is building up a forward military installation in Spratly to expand their role of making communism proliferates.

The United States is committed to deter and stop such evil pursuit; and these humanitarian pursuit and demonstration of restraints to stop humanitarian violations and territorial invasions and incursions…The Philippines asking of the United States of America for help in the distressed condition is tantamount into having A state of national emergency. SUCH REQUEST IS TANTAMOUNT INTO ASKING THE United States of America to move in with their U.S. military and federal clout to take over the Philippines…

REYES IS AFFIRMING SUCH REQUEST WITH RE-ENFORCEMENTS OF GUARANTEE TO HAVE THE UNITED STATES UNDER PRESIDENT BARACK H OBAMA ADMINISTRATION TO RE ANNEX THE PHILIPPINES AS UNITED STATES TRUST TERRITORY- THEREBY IMPLANTING THE U.S. FLAGS THROUGHOUT THE PHILIPPINES AND AND QUICKLY ACTIVATING THE U.S. MILITARY BASE IN THE PHILIPPINES- FURTHER ALLOWING FOR THE FULL RETURN OF THE U.S. MILITARY…

REYES HOPES THAT SUCH MOVE WILL STOP AND ABATE WORLD WAR III FROM HAPPENING AS UNITED STATES PRESENCE MATTERS.

12009569_1013155735395360_772217555409135166_n Many of the citizens of the Philippines still think of the Philippines as an American territory. They believe that monetarily they are still under direct control of the United States and their “independence” is only political. The opinion of many Filipinos is that it would be best for the United States to reclaim the Philippines as a U.S. territory and allow the Philippines to apply for statehood.

Elly Velez Pamatong of Davao City wrote ….

THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, COMMONWEALTH
OF THE PHILIPPINES, 1898-1946

The United States bought the Philippines from Spain for $20,000.00, including its native human inhabitants through the Treaty of Paris of December 10, 1898 that was ratified by the U.S. Congress on April 11, 1899.
For 48 years, the official title of the Philippines was “United States of America, Commonwealth of the Philippine Islands.”
… the Filipinos fought for the United States and the American People in a thousand battlefields, particularly in Bataan and Corregidor. In the process, roughly two million Filipino lives and properties were either lost or damaged during the Second World War.
More than that, thousands of Filipinos fought and died for America in the cold lands of Korea; stood for America in the forbidding jungles of Vietnam; and shed blood for America in other parts of the world…..
10417553_950388021672132_5806072139234078696_n Overall, the Filipinos believe that they have earned the right to statehood. Many of their fellow countrymen stood with and fought along side of our troops during World War Two. They are very loyal to the U.S. and the majority of them will welcome the opportunity to be part of the United States again.
A message from a concern citizen.
WE, THE PEOPLE, faithful citizens of the Philippines, urge our leaders to recognize that the people are the Philippines, and the people need a change. Independence was a noble experiment that failed, and now the people and government of the Philippines must have the courage to admit that failure and find another way to secure a free and happy future for our children, a future in which they can live with dignity, never losing sight of their heritage but never having to suffer for other people’s stubborn pride. We ask the Government of the Philippines to petition the Congress and President of the United States to admit the Philippines to Statehood, so that all Filipinos can share in the rights and benefits which all people should enjoy and to which the United States has pledged itself: ‘life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.’ We seek to become part of the United States not to avoid our civic responsibilities but truly to live up to them. We offer the United States not a servile colony but a valuable partner in its vital work in the world. We share the ideals of the people of the United States and seek to be one with them. The world is too small and too troubled for unnecessary divisions to continue. Good people, wherever they may be found, must join together to solve common problems. Please cooperate to spread this message all over the state and to save our mother Philippines. God bless us.
Reuniting the United States and the Philippines makes good sense. This will allow the U.S. to reopen Clark Air Force base and redeploy Navy ships to Subic  Bay. The return of the United States to the Philippines would serve as a strong deterrent to the Chinese and allow unrestricted use of the shipping lanes in the South China Sea.
It will also afford the Philippine people the opportunity to raise their standard of living as  American investments create higher paying jobs.

 ADMINISTRATIVE ANNOUNCEMENT:

In view of our goal to become another state of USA, we need politicians who are going to support our movement. These politicians will be running for certain offices like President, Vice President, Senators, congressmen, governors , etc…..in May 2016.

Those who are running for certain positions may not be totally in favor of making the country another USA State but at least they are pro-Americans , meaning they support the existing alliance with America. And so that these candidates will know that our movement with 4,786 voters / members now is a number to rekon with may I suggest the following for discussion and corresponding action later on:

1. Would you be in favor of having a block voting for our group ? (This means, we’ll have our candidate determined through the conduct of election within our group and whoever wins, will be our candidate to vote).
2. Up to what level shall we conduct for an internal election?
a. President and Vice President only ?
b. Down to Senators only ? ( From President, VP down to senators)

ALSO, HAVING THIS “””BLOCK VOTING FORCE”””” WILL MAKE OUR GROUP GROW BIGGER. SO PLEASE PARTICIPATE AND BE A PART OF THIS EXERCISE. ***
